Stay cool, Sail cool
Steel Coolers
These parts are manufactured by VULKAN COUPLINGS, Germany pioneers in marine drive technology.
Furtermore, VULKAN components are used in powerplant facilities or in industrial applications as well.
VULKAN production program includes following types, most available from the manufacturing site in Germany but some common ones are also available from our warehouse in Moschato:
Steel Cooler
Steel coolers are efficient cooling systems designed for installation in several maritime, stationary, and industrial applications. Steel coolers cool the primary circuit using open water. A closed-circuit cooling system does not need water filters, valves, inboard heat exchangers, raw water pumps, seawater piping, and filters. The steel coolers can be mounted externally and internally into the ship’s hull.
A typical Steel (box) cooler features a rectangular-shaped tube bundle firmly welded together to guide the water flow. This bundle is installed into a specially designed mounting frame.
Double Circuit
When the need arises to cool two distinct water circuits or when redundancy is a requirement, it becomes feasible to furnish the steel cooler with dual compartments. This configuration allows for two separate circuits to be accommodated within a single cooler, effectively minimizing the space constraints.
For the redundancy version, these two compartments can be operated either in parallel or in series, contingent upon the installation of supplementary piping and valves. The implementation of a dual circuit and redundancy design can be seamlessly applied to our box coolers, offering versatility and adaptability to specific operational demands.
